MAR-VAN Construction Battens - 18 mm

Structural battens made of waterproof birch plywood with a thickness of 18 mm, a width of 40 mm, and a length of 2 500 mm.

The battens are dimensionally stable and easy to work with. They are primarily suitable for the production of furniture structures, floor frames, or as a transition strip between the body and furniture. When anchoring, we recommend using the adhesive sealant CARBOND 940FC. You can ensure good cohesion of the individual batten layers by using rivets with a large head and a diameter of 4.8 mm (riveting applies to walls and ceilings). We recommend riveting at least every 20 cm, always in pairs in a row. The ideal choice are steel rivets, which have a significantly higher tensile and shear strength compared to aluminum rivets. Furthermore, the battens can be anchored with rivet nuts, also made of steel.

If used for the production of a floor frame, first check the curvature of the vehicle floor (manufacturing deviations). To create an absolute level, it is advisable to compensate for these deviations by shimming the relevant section with a piece of plywood of suitable thickness or, conversely, by grinding the batten.
